Thomas Wynn-Jones - Osteopath

thomas-wynn-jonesThomas is a dedicated practitioner who trained at the British School of Osteopathy (London) and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsc) in the UK. He is also a founding member of the American Academy of Paediatric Osteopathy.

To meet individual patients needs, Thomas uses a large variety of osteopathic modalities/techniques such as structural, cranial, visceral and fascial release by using a holistic approach to his patients, he always works towards general health maintenance.

Thomas initially gained experience working in private and NHS clinics in London and Surrey (UK) before continuing his profession in Singapore since 2008.

Through many years of work with professional rugby players, tour golfers as well as other pro and amateur athletes, Thomas has become specialized in high profile sports osteopathy, which includes the successful treatment and prevention of recurring injuries.

Being a parent himself, Thomas' other passion is osteopathic treatment during pregnancy, where he will always work to minimize and stop the discomfort and pain related to it. This naturally lead to the treatment of many babies & children for a variety of ailments. This area of his practice is often through the use of cranial osteopathy in which Thomas has carried out extensive training in the UK and the US. He has many years of experience using this very safe and effective treatment.

His interest in the well being of office workers has lead to Thomas giving daily treatment and advice for the relief of low back, neck and other pains associated with office work. Thomas 'hands-on' patient approach always includes patient education, as knowledge about what is wrong is always an aid to a speedier recovery.

Thomas has done award winning research work into the referral practices of GP's within the National Health Service and has lectured and held workshops on sports injuries, pregnancy, baby/child care and workplace health.

Ben Muir - Physiotherapist

benjamin-muirBen is a chartered physiotherapist from the UK. His knowledge and experience comes from a rounded background of pulmonary, neurological and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Specialising in musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, with keen interest in the neck, lower back and pelvis, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle.

Ben's main area of interest is the biomechanics of the body, he aims each treatment to correct the route cause of the injury and optimise the biomechanics of the body, therefore preventing further risk of injury and a long term cure for pain.

He is very experienced in rehabilitation following injury and surgery (particularly ACL reconstructions, and shoulder surgery) valuing core strength and plyometric training as a major contributor to restoring correct biomechanics.

His approach is individualised to each patient, making treatment as effective, functional and as progressive as possible.

Ben has a vast sporting background, of rugby, football, basketball, kickboxing, wakeboarding, triathlons, golf and many racket sports. He has had valuable experience in treating international rugby players, professional Muay Thai fighters, professional ball room dancers, competitive wake boarders, iron man tri-athletes, and marathon runners, and many other recreational sports players.

Karine Rogers - Physiotherapist

declan-halpinKarine graduated with commendation with a Masters in Physiotherapy in the United Kingdom. In 2012 she moved to Singapore to pursue her career in sports physiotherapy. While living in the UK, Karine trained with the British Army as a Physical Training Instructor and Combat Medic thus broadening her knowledge as a Physiotherapist.

Following the time spent in a military rehabilitation unit, she has developed a particular interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation. Karine is a keen sports person, having competed in rowing, squash, tennis and marathons. She is currently an active member of Crossfithub, Singapore Paddle Club and Rock Climbing Singapore.

This experience in a wide variety of sports has developed her understanding of movement related sports injuries as her area of special interest. She has gained invaluable experience treating marathon runners, iron-man triathletes, sprinters, rugby players, football players and many other recreational sports players.

Joe Harrison - Physiotherapist

Joe is a UK Charted physiotherapist who graduated from Cardiff University and specializes in musculo-skeletal injuries. He has extensive experience in treating pre and post op joint reconstructions, ACL replacements and sports injuries.

Joe has played cricket at a high level, and been a competitive swimmer. Due to his sporting background he has developed a special interest in the biomechanics of the shoulder, especially in “overhead athletes”, for example tennis, badminton, throwing, swimming and cricket. He has an in depth understanding of how injuries occur in these activities, and how they can be prevented through having the correct biomechanics.

He has first hand experience of knee surgery having undergone an ACL and meniscus repair op himself, due to football and cricket injuries. He therefore has the invaluable experience of going through the prehab, rehab and surgical procedure. He understands personally how the patient is feeling at each point during the process.

Joe also has a keen interest in rugby having pitch side experience as a first responder at club level whilst in Cardiff. He carries out rugby cover for rugby clubs here in Singapore, and is qualified up to Level 2 IRB Immediate Care In Rugby qualification.

Joe has developed a strong awareness of pain and has many strategies to effectively manage these conditions. Joe has vast experience of handling acute and chronic sports injuries as well as pre/post surgery rehabilitation. Apart from the athletic population, Joe has proven results in aiding the return to function of all age groups through the recognition of the individual goals of each patient.

Mixing manual therapeutic techniques and functional strengthening, he is able to address biomechanical issues to ensure a long-term solution to a condition and reduce the risk of future exacerbation.

He has an extensive medical based background, after working in many different areas of the National Health Service, which helped him to develop a rounded knowledge of many medial conditions. Therefore if Joe is unable to help you he will know exactly where to refer on to for further investigation.

Niamh Delaney – Physiotherapist

Niamh is a UK trained Physiotherapist and has worked in private practices in Ireland. She specializes in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal problems. Over the years, Niamh has developed a special interest in chronic pain, neck and back problems as well as occupational related disorders and post-operative rehabilitation.

Since moving to Singapore, Niamh gained valuable hospital experience working in the area of obstetrics, gynaecology and orthopaedic paediatric physiotherapy whilst working at K.K. Hospital.

Niamh strongly believes in treating the body as a whole and in tailoring each treatment to the individual. Dr Melissa Cummings - Physiotherapist

Dr. Melissa Cummings received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and BA in Exercise and Sports Science (Magna Cum Laude) from University of North Carolina.

As a doctoral student, she led an innovative program at UNC that continues to bring expert education to doctoral physiotherapy students interested in working with patients with neurological disorders. After graduation, a Certified Specialist title was awarded to her for work among patients with Multiple Sclerosis.

Melissa has also gained musculoskeletal and sport therapy experience in the private sector: working with professional dancers and hockey players, as well as triathletes, and weekend warriors.

Since arriving in Singapore Melissa has noticed a trend in patients with neck and back pain due to poor posture at work and has made it her mission to encourage people to put down the phones and step away from the computer (or at least take regular breaks).

Dr. Melissa is also experienced in helping children return to play or sport after injury and regularly educates her patients on injury prevention.

Melissa moved from North Carolina, USA to Singapore in 2014 with her husband Chris and their dog, Jazzy Rascal. They enjoy outdoor activities, travelling and eating at the local hawker stalls. Melissa was a professional ballerina and a Pilates Instructor prior to becoming a physiotherapist and she continues these activities regularly to stay healthy and happy.

Heidi Maccanti- Physiotherapist

Heidi received her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia in 1997. Heidi then went onto complete her Masters of Physiotherapy in Neuroscience in 2003 at the University of Melbourne. Her thesis research and paper involved the development of a measuring tool for patients who have had a stroke.

Heidi has had nearly 17 years experience working in the area of Neurological physiotherapy in Australia and Singapore, in rehabilitation hospitals as well as private practice settings. Heidi also has vast experience in Home Rehabilitation and Therapy, both with orthopaedic/post surgical and neurological patients.

Heidi has also been involved in many research projects involving patients who have had a stroke, and has had several articles published relating to this work.

Since arriving in Singapore, Heidi has worked with and treated children and adults who have had musculoskeletal, sporting and neurological injuries. She is passionate about and has been involved in educating these plus other groups regarding health maintenance, pain avoidance and injury prevention.

Heidi has also been involved in providing physiotherapy for netball, football and rugby teams in the past.

Heidi moved to Singapore in 2011 with her husband and two boys. Heidi is an avid runner at both sprint and marathon distances, and also continues to play netball here in Singapore.

Amandeep Bancil - Osteopath

Aman trained at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in London, where he gained a Masters in Osteopathic Medicine and a Diploma of Naturopathy. Prior to that, he worked in finance and had also studied genetics and microbiology at Queen Mary’s University of London.

Aman uses a largely structural and mechanical osteopathic approach towards his patients. Having previously achieved a Second Dan black belt in karate and being a kickboxing instructor, he has a strong background in martial arts and sports. This has led to a special interest in the biomechanics of movement, where the aim is to treat the root cause of any problem as opposed to simply treating symptoms.

Aman has a confident and caring approach treating a variety of patients of all ages, integrating multiple modalities of manual medicine and kinesiology taping into treatments. He is well equipped to advise on nutrition, including weight management, as well as exercise training programmes and rehabilitation.

Alongside his osteopathic skills, Aman is an accredited DSE assessor which allows him to perform ergonomic assessments of your work station, with the aim to significantly reduce musculoskeletal problems.

Hayley Mcpherson - Osteopath

HAYLEY McPHERSONHayley is an Australian-trained osteopath who graduated with a Masters degree in osteopathy from the renowned Victoria University School of Osteopathic Medicine. She is currently registered with the Australian Osteopathy Board.

Hayley moved to Singapore in 2014 after living in Shanghai for 7 years. Prior to that she worked in private practice in Australia. She has worked in the international hospital setting for many years with Parkway China, gaining valuable experience working closely with orthopaedic surgeons, obstetricians and pain/sports medicine specialists from around the world. She has extensive clinical skills in treating a range of injuries from complicated spine pain and sporting injuries to simple office work related pain syndromes.

She has a special interest in treating both acute and chronic spine pain and believes in using rehabilitation exercises coupled with manual therapy as a way to provide long-term relief. Hayley is trained in rehabilitation Pilates and incorporates a combination of core exercises and postural retraining into her treatments where appropriate.

Hayley is experienced in treating patients of all ages, from office workers to athletes. She also has a wealth of experience treating infants and children, as well as women during pregnancy.

Suzanna Fletcher - Osteopath

Suzanna is a British Osteopath, registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOSC) in the UK, who moved to Singapore in 2013 with her husband and three children.

Since completing her training at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London, Suzanna worked as an osteopath in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, New Zealand and Russia. Suzanna has spent many years working in a variety of clinics, including a sports injury clinic, a chronic pain clinic and a multidisciplinary clinic and enjoys treating a wide range of conditions and collaborating with other medical professionals to enable the best tailor-made diagnosis and treatment of each individual patient.

Suzanna uses a variety of osteopathic techniques to treat sports injuries, neck & back pain, headaches and musculoskeletal problems arising from natural changes during pregnancy and post-natal.

Suzanna also holds a diploma in Naturopathy and is experienced in Pilates-based exercise. She strongly believes in the importance of exercise, postural, nutritional and lifestyle advice alongside osteopathic manual treatment, with an aim towards optimal function of the body biomechanically, in both treatment and prevention of injury.

Victoria Kent - Osteopath

Victoria Kent graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1998 and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

Victoria spent her first six years working in busy successful central London practices. During that time most of her work was done in conjunction with obstetricians from London's top private hospitals including the Portland and St John and Elizabeth's. Over the past eight years she has set up and run her own successful practice in the city of Bath, UK (www.VictoriaKent.co.uk).

Victoria uses a variety of osteopathic treatment methods but specialises in cranial osteopathy.

She has treated patients with a wide variety of problems including typical back ache and joint pain. She is particularly interested in people who have suffered ongoing pain after a trauma. This may include those who have had a past or recent shock, accident, 'whiplash' or operation.

Her main passion is treating the musculo-skeletal problems associated with pregnancy and post natal women.

She also has substantial experience working with babies and children and now that she is a mother to three young children she can fully empathise with parents and understands just how challenging it can be!

During her osteopathic career Victoria has helped teach at the European School of Osteopathy. She has lectured on pregnancy and post natal health and the osteopathic care of babies. She also organized a health conference for the medical profession in the UK to increase the understanding of Plagiocephaly (mis-shapen heads) in babies and children.

Hina is also an expert in workplace health and has worked with many corporate clients.

In order to effectively help her patients, Hina firmly believes in not only treating the symptoms but also understanding the specific underlying musclo-skeletal problems and how these may be related to each person's different lifestyle and working environment. As such, she often likes to incorporate streching exercises and postural and other preventive advice as part of her overall treatment. To complement her osteopathic skills, she isalso trained in ergonomics and custom-made orthotics.

Through her effective and personalised approach Hina has extensive experience in successfully treating a wide variety of patients, including office-based professionals, sports enthusiasts and athletes, and pregnant women and children. Janice Lim - Sports Massage Therapist

Janice LimJanice is an experienced massage therapist, who is highly skilled in sports massage. She is also a senior trainer and has extensive knowledge in the Usui System of Reiki Healing, which means she always has a holistic approach in her treatment. Building a close relationship with her clients and identifying their individual needs is an essential part of her work.

Having worked in various high profile facilities, Janice is the most sought after sports massage therapist for the Singapore Paddle Club. As an active member of the club, she has accompanied the team at international events over the years as both a paddler and as massage therapist including the Club Crew World Cup Drangonboat Championship in Macau (2010), Expedition to Kalimantan (2011) and Queen Lili’uokalani Canoe Race (2013).
